Tom Van Kuren is a Technical Sales Representative and the Technical Director for Dar-Tech, Inc., where he is responsible for new territory growth, new market applications development and identifying new principals and products to expand their current portfolio of offerings. He is a 35-year veteran of the paint and coatings industry, having held R&D leadership roles of increasing responsibility at PPG, AkzoNobel, Sherwin Williams, Valspar, Watson Standard and Michelman. His applications experience spans Industrial, Automotive and Architectural coatings with most recent experience in Metal, Paper and Flexible Packaging. Tom has been an active member of the Pittsburgh Society of Coatings Technology, Cleveland Coatings Society and the International Metal Decorators Association. He has presented papers at trade shows and society meetings and is named in 6 patents with others pending.
Maggie McDonald is the Tolsa U.S. Sales Manager representing the special additives product line, ADINS. Tolsa ADINS are new to the U.S. market, and Maggie is developing sales opportunities and providing technical support and solutions with companies across the US. Maggie earned her chemical engineering degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette. Her experience includes leadership roles in color and additive masterbatch design and formulation. She has worked in both product development and manufacturing environments. Maggie’s passion for directly helping customers optimize and improve their formulations led her to technical sales. She started with Tolsa in October 2019 and resides in Sarasota, Fla., with her husband where they are expecting their first child this summer.
Marta Sacristán is a Doctor in Chemistry from the Rovira i Virgili University of Tarragona, Spain, where she worked on the development and characterization of new flame-retardant polymers from soybean oil. After completing her PhD, she was working as a researcher in the polymer area at the Leitat Technological Center (Barcelona). In 2011, she moved to Zaragoza to participate in a low-cost graphene production project and its subsequent incorporation into polymers. In 2015, Marta started working at Tolsa in the R&D department leading a packaging project, and in 2017 she became part of the Special Additives Business Unit as Project Leader of Biocidal additives and synergists additives for Flame Retardancy.
